School history

In 1974, the High School for the Education of Workers in Vranje started to work, which was supposed to provide professional staff, necessary for the developed economy of Vranje and the region. In 1987, the Higher School for the Education of Workers was transformed into the Higher Technical Technology School, with new sections and directions, in order to be in line with the needs of the staff of the economy. In order to fit into the European education system, since our country is a signatory of the Bologna Declaration, in 2002, the School moved to three-year studies. In September 2005, the Law on Higher Education was adopted, which transforms all the High schools into the Higher Professional School, and after that, 2007/08in accordance with the Law, the school started to educate the staff envisaged by the Bologna Declaration. In addition to teaching staff, most of the doctors of science, the school also has enough space, where students listen to lectures, work on computers, practice in laboratories and workshops. The school has made sure to provide the relevant professional literature, which they can use in the library, or to buy it and use it outside of the school. Thanks to the long-standing and good cooperation with the businessmen of Vranje and Pcinja region, our students are able to supplement their practical knowledge in the following companies: Simpo, Top Sofa, Alfa Plam, BAT, Megal and other companies. Cooperation with "BAT" is particularly successful.

The aim of the Environmental Protection curriculum is to prepare professional engineers with experience in environmental protection as well as the necessary skills and knowledge to apply them not only in the field of protection but also in the field of management and improvement of the environment.

The aim of the Environmental Protection curriculum is to create experts who will be able to fully understand the nature of the environment and the nature of the many problems created in it. Thus, such experts will be able to distinguish domestic from the anthropogenic forms in the environment, which is a prerequisite for protecting nature and preventing the initiated processes of disturbing the ecological equilibrium of the Earth. As a result of the learning process in the Environmental Protection Program at the Higher School of Applied Sciences, Vranje is an expert with a degree in a professional ecology engineer who has key knowledge and abilities to understand the phenomena and processes in the environment and its protection, defining a specific methodology for solving environmental problems at local and global level.

The aim of the curriculum is to teach students a professional engineer in accordance with the principles of sustainable development of the rural environment and the resources, traditions, needs and requirements of the food industry that include the protection and protection of the environment.

The main objective of the Food Technology program at the College of Applied Vocational Science in Vranje is to build high-level experts from fundamental and applied knowledge in the field of various food technologies whose diplomas are recognized by all institutions in the country and Europe, to allow a professional technology engineer to find his place in the food industry or to continue his training in the field of some of the specialized food science sciences.

The result of the training process in the Food Technology program is the acquired knowledge that provides the student with the expertise and competence to work in: economic organizations involved in the production and processing of plant and animal products, consultancy expert services, banks and insurance companies, institutes involved in the testing and control of foodstuffs of plant and animal origin.

Students who have graduated from this specialty are qualified to realize in all forms of wood manufacturing companies can work as assistants in the trade and distribution of wood products and perform certain tasks in the woodworking enterprises. The furniture and interior engineering curriculum allows students to join the production process of the course they have chosen during their studies after completing the core courses of their program. In the third year of their studies, they can develop their professional training through elective disciplines.

The purpose of the Road Traffic Program as a basic vocational training is the training of students in the profession of professional road traffic engineer, in accordance with the needs and development of the Republic of Serbia.

The main objectives of the Road Traffic Training program as basic vocational training are the achievement of competences and the acquisition of practical skills and knowledge in the field of road traffic, familiarization with modern methods and their application in practice, development of the ability to examine and solve specific problems as well and training for individual and team work.

Expected learning outcomes are students' ability to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in practice in the following areas: traffic safety analysis, traffic accident investigation, operation, maintenance and diagnostics of motor vehicles and engines, road transport organization, transport of dangerous goods and solving problems with parking.

The aim of the Production Economics curriculum is to educate students about recognizable and clear professions. The curriculum provides the acquisition of competencies that are socially justifiable and useful.

The main objectives of the curriculum for production economics in basic vocational training are the achievement of competences and the acquisition of practical skills and knowledge in the field of economics and industrial engineering as well as industrial management, familiarization with modern methods and their application in practice, development of the ability to solve specific problems, as well as training for individual and team work.

The ultimate goal of the Production Economics curriculum in basic vocational training is to train an expert who during the learning process acquires the necessary knowledge and practical skills that can be applied in a professional and practical way in solving problems and problems in the field of economics, industrial engineering and engineering management.

After completing their training in this direction, students have the opportunity to learn about practical work in the profession and to continue their studies in the country and abroad.

            The acquired knowledge of students who have completed basic vocational training provide expertise for the work and management of SMEs and all other organizations involved in economic activity, planning and organizing the production and marketing of goods and services.

            Overall, the expected outcome of the training is that the student can practically and theoretically become a quality professional manager in practice, which is achieved through active teaching, a number of practical exercises, practice in economic organization, creation of a specific project, etc.
